'Make a joyful noise to the Lord all ye lands'. Psalm 100: 1
You can hear a joyful noise when you go to a football game and see a player run down the middle of the field with the rest of the players following (particularly if the person is on your team). You can hear a joyful noise when a basket ball player is in middle court and throws the ball and makes a basket in the last second of the game. You can hear a joyful noise when a soccer team of hockey team makes a goal. You can hear a joyful noise when a grand slam is hit in baseball.
This joyful noise is made by both men and women. It is not only the women who are emotional. When we hear ‘Make a joyful noise to the Lord” in church – we are supposed to make a noise louder than one we would make at a sporting event. Don’t you think that God has done a little more for you than any sports team? An appropriate joyful noise would be to shout “GLORY” , “ALLELUJIA”, “THANK YOU JESUS”, to name a few.
