I am a middle school teacher who is currently teaching summer school at the high school level. My students have failed the math portion of the California High School Exit Exam. I was confused going into the job because I thought, along with all of my students and their counselors, that these students would be able to take the exam as soon as summer school let out while the ability to calculate would still be fresh in their minds. This test during the summer is only available to those students who were seniors during the 2007 - 2008 school year. According to the district office - all schools in California who are teaching the CAHSEE portions are faced with the same dilemma. I was wondering if this is a true statement. Is there anyone who has taught the CAHSEE and could not give the test to students?
